Sandy Foster, Trustee

Sandy Foster, Chairman

Sandy Foster has a civil engineering background. Sandy has a strong proven record of business planning, financial modelling, market research and project planning in the area of property development. His specific focus has been affordable and social housing, retirement villages and aged care accommodation. Sandy is well respected in the community housing sector having been directly involved in the delivery of new supply over a number of years.

Kate Armstrong, Trustee

Kate Armstrong has local and international experience both as a lawyer, banker and regulatory advisor. Kate has demonstrated strong legal and financial expertise with the commercial acumen required to run large divisions and has a strong reputation for “getting things done”, aligning communication, people, culture and resources to ensure delivery on time and on budget. To ensure she understands her community’s needs, she also volunteers her time to two not for profit organisations providing financial and general advice and assistance.

Ken Stevenson, Trustee

Ken Stevenson has been a registered valuer since 1974, specialising in the valuation of commercial, industrial, rural/residential and development land.

Ken is a past chairman of the Auckland Branch of the New Zealand Institute of Valuers, is a life member  of both NZIV and the New Zealand Property Institute and since 1992 has been a member of the Auckland Land Valuation Tribunal.  He is also a member of the Real Estate Institute.  Ken is immediate past chairman of the New Zealand Housing Foundation and for 20 years was chair of the Habitat for Humanity Greater Auckland board.

Ian Mitchell, Trustee

Ian is a property research professional with over twenty-five years’ experience in the property industry.   His areas of expertise include quantitative and qualitative research, econometric modelling, social and demographic research, financial feasibility analysis, project management, policy development and client relationship management.  He currently offers consultancy services across a broad range of property markets and his recent clients include Auckland Council, McConnell Property Ltd, Department of Building & Housing, Housing New Zealand and the New Zealand Productivity Commission.

Sarah Sinclair, Trustee

Sarah Sinclair is a Partner in the law firm MinterEllisonRuddWatts. Sarah is a highly-regarded construction and infrastructure specialist and brings extensive experience acting for both Government and private sector clients in large-scale, complex infrastructure projects.   Sarah is known for providing commercially pragmatic, strategic advice on infrastructure funding models, procurement strategies and contracting structures.

Tony Lanigan

Tony Lanigan, Trustee

Tony Lanigan is a Civil Engineer and holds Directorships in several private companies and NGOs.

‘Affordable housing is central to Kiwi society and remains stitched into the social aspirations of our culture. Without the solid foundation of a home, low-income families are forever in survival mode and less able to make a wider contribution to their communities’.

Previous roles include Director of Infrastructure Auckland 1999 – 2004, Chancellor of Auckland University of Technology 1996 – 2001, where he was also a founding Trustee 1998 – 2001.

Bill Roest, Trustee

Bill is a member of  Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK).

Bill’s long and varied career included 12 years as Chief Financial Officer of Fletcher Building Limited until April 2013. He has held several other leadership roles within Fletcher Building, including Managing Director of Fletcher Residential and Fletcher Aluminium.
